SBMS at Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures

Coming up in October in the annual Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures event in Santa Clara. The event, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th, is a benefit for the Auxiliary of Good Samaritan Hospital. This is the 24th annual event and it takes place at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose.

The South Bay Model Shipwrights have participated over the years, and we expect to have some presence again this year, though we may be limited to a slightly smaller showing than in previous years due to space limitations this time. Below are some photos from the 2024 event.

The Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures is primarily a dollhouse show. But, that term is very misleading, as there is so much amazing work that’s on display at this event. If you’re interested in seeing the display exhibits, that part of the event which includes our ship models, is free and open to the public. Entrance into the vendor room and registration for various workshops requires paid admission.

And, of course, you’ll see some ship models there, displayed by our members!

Oh, and this is the same weekend as our October meeting, and it’s not far from our meeting location. So, this is a good opportunity to see the display AND attend our meeting. But, you might want to visit the showcase before the meeting, since it the event closes only about an hour after our meeting ends.
